“There once was a year named Twenty
With illness and strife a-plenty
We tried to stay sane
But it was our bane
A horrible year for so many.

May Twenty-One come like a dove
Bringing peace, joy and hope from above
There’s much to be said
For a good year ahead
Happy New Year to all…with much love.”

(Your limerick is now over. You’re welcome.)

My word for the new year is “light” so I thought I’d begin with something lighthearted (if a limerick counts—ha!).

Light…as opposed to darkness.
Light…as opposed to heaviness.
Light…as in the “Light of the World,” source of illuminating grace and strength. (See John 8:12)

2021 is now loading. May it bring light.
