Today’s entry in A Pocketful of Seeds is titled “Think About the Power of Many.”
The quote is “The power of one, if fearless and focused, is formidable, but the power of many working together is better.”
(Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, past president of the Philippines)
The power of many built the Great Wall of China, by force of strength.
The power of many brought down the Berlin Wall, by force of will.
Sometimes we go it alone.
Sometimes we band together with many others going in the direction we want to go.
As I prepare for 2017, I’m thinking through the bandwagons I want to hope on.
Some years, my service focus remains the same. Other years, I tweak things a bit. So for 2017, I’m thinking through where I want to focus locally and globally. I’m looking around at the groups already going in the direction of my interests, like…
our local task force that helps the struggling in our county find jobs…
or our local Amnesty chapter for helping refugees or advocating against torture.
Or both.
How about you? What bandwagons could use a few hours of your time in 2017?
