I think the vast majority of Americans roll their eyes when things get too woke. California politicians have essentially attempted to cancel 22 states because they won’t mimic California on issues like transgender policy. So UCLA athletes might be banned from playing Ohio State? And I think the vast majority of Americans can clearly see what did (and didn’t) happen on January 6. Why is there any question? And get this. The morning after the last hearing, I decided to see what Fox News had to say about it and found the report sixteen stories in, just after a piece on self-driving tractors.

Let’s be honest. Things are bizarre.

But most of us aren’t bizarre. We want to coalesce around real wisdom and leadership, hard as they are to find these days. We want to send the wackadoodle to the fringes and let wisdom start shining again. Proverbs 4:6-7 “Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you…Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.”

Here’s an excerpt from a poem by my friend, Gary Glatthar. To me, it’s a visual for finding wisdom…and each other. “Yet here and there a small spark blazed as one, then two saw through the haze. And there, though dim, the Way was lit so each one now could break the bit; which held them down and weighed their soul with bitter pain and broken goal. Yet as they watched, the Way grew bright. And as they moved, each step grew light.”

Let’s not give up hope. Wisdom hasn’t gotten lost. We have.
