In the midst of the chaos of the last few months, I’m excited about something. I’m excited that people are finding a home. A home for their hearts. So many people have been deeply disturbed but didn’t know where to turn. Now I’m seeing points of light in the darkness, all coming together.
(Or maybe I just have a vivid imagination.)
But I really am seeing a beautiful turning–a turning towards principles and each other. I hear the stories. I know my own story. We’re out there and we’re finding one another. Our little “principles” group of a dozen people will be expanding to reach hundreds (probably thousands) within the next two months. This isn’t due to some kind of marketing plan. People are just drawn to hope. It’s happening organically. We need each other.
There’s the well-known politician who said, “That’s enough!” on January 6, 2021. There’s the pastor and his wife who had their own moment of reckoning. There’s the professor. The pilot. The student. The medical researcher. The best-selling author. The stay-at-home mom. The retired teacher. People of all nationalities and income levels. People who shout it from the rooftops. People who can’t say it out loud due to repercussions.
But we’re forming a more perfect union. We wish we had a formula, marching orders, but we haven’t landed there yet. Seems it’s up to “we the people” to create it.
It’s exciting but sadly, dangerous. Yet we have a dream. The path will reveal itself.
