In March, a French politician asked that the Statue of Liberty be returned to France. He said, “It was our gift to you. But apparently, you despise her. So she will be happy here with us.”
All of this got me to thinking. Lady Liberty isn’t likely to go anywhere, but what changes ARE we going to see? Maybe a rewrite of the Pledge of Allegiance? That “liberty and justice for all” part doesn’t seem to square with our trajectory. And if the president “isn’t sure” whether or not he’s supposed to uphold the Constitution, I wonder if he wants to change it. And furthermore, the Bible, although not a national document, could use some work. As it stands now, it’s WAY too subversive for this government. It’s built on unselfishness and empathy.
A Department of Document Updates (DODU) is probably right around the corner.
Those who disagree with revisions will be punished. The Church will be forced underground.
But silly me. Why am I bringing all this up?
We all know why.
