I do believe God wants us to be ready, and in times like these, more than ever. He’s encouraged us to put on the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of readiness, shield of faith, and today, the helmet of salvation.

Helmets protect our heads, our brains. Whatever goes into our brains comes out the same way. If we skip the helmet, misinformation can go in, which causes problems.

And he encourages us to put on the helmet of salvation. The author of the Psalms, David, said this in his psalm #27.

The Lord is my light and my salvation—
    whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?

Putting on that kind of helmet is a great visual for me. As I ready myself for each day, I want God’s light, salvation, fearlessness, strength, and protection from what is false.
